Multicore cables – an overview

Today the usage of multicore cables is highly increasing. Especially these cables are widely used for industrial needs. These cables are made from copper and are highly known for the flexibility. The industries which are engaged in manufacturing portable devices are using these cables in a greater extent. But it is to be noted that these cables are not only used for industrial needs but they are also widely used in homes. The most important reason for the popularity of this cable is they can withstand high temperature. That is these cables can be used in the environment which gets exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold.

Why multicore cables?

Since these cables are 40% smaller when compared to that of comparable products, the usability of these cables are influencing in various fields. As these cables are very small in size, they can be inserted even in small space without any constraint. That is they can be used even in very small area without getting exposed to any kind of damage. When compared to other cables the fluid and chemical resistance of this cable is considered to be higher. By using these cables, the influence of fire accidents can be greatly reduced. The most advanced feature of this cable is they can include data, power and signal.

Parts

The durable multicore cable consists of three main parts which include conductor, insulator and sheath. The conductor may be copper, aluminum or they can also be made from silver. The electricity will flow inside this material. The insulator will help in preventing the electrical current from coming out. Often they will be a colorful coating. The sheath is also known as jacket. The sheath will be of two parts which include inner sheath and outer sheath. This will help in protecting the cable from toxic materials.
