Highly anonymous proxies for safe browsing

anonymous proxies

It seems that anonymous proxies are a safe way to surf the web. They should be, but, unfortunately, they are often the exact opposite. Before I explain why people make big mistakes when using anonymous proxy servers, maybe I should tell them a little about what they are.

You probably used a proxy server often, maybe not at home, but certainly at work, in college or at school. A proxy server is a computer that exists to send and receive web requests when, at work, your request for a web page is sent to this server, which carries the page and returns it to your browser. There are many advantages: a youtube proxy server can cache copies of accessible pages to speed up browsing, requests for pages can be monitored so you can watch or block inappropriate content, basically giving the employer or school control over who is seeing something through a specific connection.

Anonymous proxies go further and do not send the X-Forwarded-For header, which usually contains your IP address, so there is no record of your IP address on your web server. But wait, the definition of a highly anonymous proxy server is probably a little less defined, but it is generally called anonymous proxy that can process https (protected)youtube sites or even slightly mask your identity by sending false information.

In any case, although an anonymous proxy server can, to a certain extent, hide your identity, in fact, there are massive flaws.

  • Many free anonymous proxy servers on the Internet are, in fact, pirated or infected servers designed to spy on or install viruses to anyone who uses them. Often, the owner of the server completely ignores the fact that it is used as a proxy.
  • Anonymous proxies can be very slow because they first send a request to the server, which redirects it to a web page. Using many proxy servers on the Internet can be extremely painful to use with multimedia that works forever!
  • Although your identity will be protected from the web server, you will visit all your data in the proxy server registries and your Internet provider.
  • The vast majority of your web traffic is in clear text, which can be intercepted at many points on your way by anyone who wants to spy on you.
